6 Yoga Retreat Destinations You’ll Love
Updated: Jan 19, 2020
Going on a Yoga Retreat can be a life-changing experience. You'll not only travel, experience new cultures and see the world through the lens of yoga, but depending on the type of retreat you select, there will be numerous activities to choose from: Go on adventures, relax by the pool, take a swim in the ocean, walk on the beach, enjoy a massage, eat delicious food, stay at a yoga resort, connect with like-mined people, and of course, practice yoga every day. All activities optional, of course.
Before I ever went on my first yoga retreat about a decade ago, I wasn't so sure if it was for me. I had pictured sleeping in bunk beds, holding hands and dancing around the fire with strangers, and having to participate in activities when I really just wanted to relax. Boy was I wrong. Turns out - I loved it. My first retreat was a weekend Kundalini yoga & music festival at a National Park. When it was over, I wasn't ready to leave, I didn't want to go back to my life, and I just wanted more, and I wanted that feeling inside of me to last forever. Not too long after I took my first week-long international retreat in Mexico. And I was hooked. There have been many life-changing retreats I have participated in since, I have gained many valuable friendships around the world, and I knew this is what I wanted to be able to offer to others as well as soon as I stepped into the seat of the teacher. Have you been thinking of attending a retreat? Allow yourself to open your mind and experience traveling the world through the lens of a yoga retreat! Below are some of our favorite destinations.
